Le canal de Lachine est un canal traversant la section sud-ouest de l'île de Montréal entre le lac Saint-Louis et le Vieux Port. Nommé d’après l’arrondissement de Lachine, il permet d’éviter les rapides du même nom sur le fleuve Saint-Laurent. Ouvert en 1825, agrandi deux fois au XIX siècle, il a joué un rôle important dans le développement industriel du Canada et de Montréal. Il est fermé à la navigation commerciale depuis 1970, remplacé par la voie maritime du Saint-Laurent.
