Nowadays, Martin uses 0.043” x 0.080” on most of their models. Luthiers can obviously use any material, but factories like to buy in bulk. We have many choices mainly by Jescar and Dunlop.

All my non-Taylors use medium jumbo or larger. There you go - it was a great "frog in the frying pan" reminder of two effects of lower fret wire:
