In human anatomy, the acromion (from Greek: akros, "highest", ōmos, "shoulder", pl.: acromia) is a bony process on the scapula (shoulder blade). Together with the coracoid process, it extends laterally over the shoulder joint. The acromion is a continuation of the scapular spine, and hooks over anteriorly.
The acromion (acromial process) is the anterior projection from the lateral end of the spine of the scapula. It is continuous medially with the spine of the scapula at the acromial angle and extends anteriorly over the glenohumeral (shoulder) joint.
The acromion is the top outer edge of your scapula (shoulder blade). It forms the acromioclavicular joint with your clavicle (collarbone) and is located above the glenohumeral joint.
