no dresscode for ayutthya, but remember to bring your hat or an umbrella, its so hot there. and whenever you take photo of buddha, make sure your head is bellow the buddha head/face. Thai ppl …

I would suggest for one day trip and then you have time to see more ancient city for other temples, floating market and local foods. Enjoy traveling !
