Conjunctivitis

Very common

Inflammation of the transparent covering of the eye because of bacterial or viral infection or allergic reaction. The eye appears swollen, and red with itching sensation.

Symptoms may include:

• Red eye
• Irritation, itching, and a sensation of the presence of a foreign particle in the eye
• Watery eyes or discharge from eyes

Keratoconjunctivitis sicca

Common

A condition when tear glands do not provide enough lubricants to eyes.

Symptoms may include:

• Ocular dryness and burning
• Foreign- body sensation and grittiness
• Mucoid discharge
• Excessive tearing

Stye

Common

A small red, painful lump in the edge of the eyelid.

Symptoms may include:

• A red, hot, exquisitely tender swelling near the edge of the eyelid
• Inflamed (red and swollen) eyelids
• Burning or sore eyes
• Watery eyes

Common cold

Very common

A viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. This results in sneezing, stuffy nose and runny nose.

Symptoms may include:

• Nose stuffiness
• Runny Nose
• Watery eyes
• Sore throat

Blepharitis

Very common

An inflammation of the eyelids. This occurs due to infection at the base of eyelashes or when the tiny oil glands at the base of the eyelashes become clogged.

Symptoms may include:

• Watery eyes
• Red eyes
• A gritty, burning or stinging sensation in the eyes...

Bell's palsy

Rare

A condition that causes temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles in the face. It causes paralysis on one side of the face, drooping face, headache, loss of taste, increased sensitivity to sound, dry eye and dry mouth.

Symptoms may include:

• Sudden paralysis on one side of the face, including the muscles of the forehead
• Difficulty in closing eyelids and smiling
• Watery eyes
