Centers allow children to work in small groups or independently during a designated time period on the preschool schedule^{1 3}. Some examples of centers are blocks, dramatic play, art, sensory, library, and writing². The early childhood center may also include other spaces such as an outdoor space, a multipurpose room, a health center, a teachers' work-space, and an administrative office⁴.
