    Cervical vertebrae are the bones present in the neck. Abnormal fusion of these bones causes a disease condition named Klippel-Feil Syndrome (KFS). The main features of this condition are a fusion of the cervical vertebrae which limits the movement of the neck, a short neck, and a low hairline at the back of the neck. Treatment of KFS depends on its severity. It can include medications or physiotherapy. Conservative treatment includes cervical collars, braces, and traction. In the case of pain, over-the-counter painkillers are used. Surgery is performed incase of involvement of the nervous system including the brain and spinal cord, unstable spine, muscle weakness, and abnormalities in other organs.
