Conch without a shell? - General Discussion - Nano-Reef …
Jun 19, 2002 · I see something coming up out of the sand and moving around...like a small worm. I look closer, and I see the two eye-stalks of my conch, along with his "snout" feeling around for food. That's all I see...the eye-stalks and the snout. I can't tell if he's just burried himself in the sand (shell intact) or if he's shell-less.
Baby snail without shell? - Identification Forum - Nano-Reef …
Aug 25, 2017 · I found this little guy the other night. He was munching some algae on the rock and then on my small Astrea snail. He is shell-less and has 2 antennae and is appx. 1/4" long when not stretched out. I have 2 ceriths (the only snails I have with black bodies) but I never noticed eggs and, as a new ...

Aug 20, 2008 · This was posted in the invert forum but i'm not getting any replies so one day i look in my tank and i see that there is a perfectly round hole in the back of my conch's shell. so it was fine for awhile, but when i got home from vacation the hole got larger. i have a skunk shrimp, some snails, he...
Fighing conch not moving - Beginners Discussion - Nano-Reef …
Jun 12, 2004 · I got me a small (1.5") fighting conch as part of a clean up crew yesterday. He was out of his shell, looking around with those little eyes of his while acclimating, but hardly moved since placed in the tank. He just sits there but if I pick under the shell, I can see a tiny eye staring back at me. At one point I though he was dead.
Strawberry conch behaviour - Nano-Reef Community
Sep 9, 2018 · 1x Strawberry conch. Now I know there’s plenty in there for him to eat. The first few days I had him he buried himself, then he remerged and cracked on cleaning up. The last week and a half, he’s stayed on the substrate, hasn’t buried himself and hasn’t done a right lot else. He doesn’t seem to be eating very often if at all.
conch identification - Identification Forum - Nano-Reef Community
Jan 27, 2005 · I was assured that this type of conch was the type that stayed small (or smaller compared to the other well known species). However, they thought the name on it might be Queen Conch, contradicting what I have read here about queen conchs. In the discussion the manager said that the fighting conch was the one that got very large, not the queen.
Why is my conch eating my snails? - Nano-Reef Community
Aug 21, 2010 · +1 definitely not a conch - yours has a siphonal notch like most of the bad whelks. A stromboid notch in the front of all conchs is more rounded and wide, whereas as your snail's is thin and narrow. Also your snail has an operculum from the looks of it although I may be wrong.
Turbo's Turning White - Beginners Discussion - Nano-Reef …
Jul 28, 2006 · What;s up with my turbo snail? His shell has increasingly becoming white. Was covered w/coraline when I got it 3-4 weeks ago, now it's probably 85-90% white. Coraline on my LR is fine and also seem to be getting growth on the glass. No changes to the shells on astrea, nass or conch (Well, conch is getting a bit more green on it) Is it dying?
How long has your Fighting Conch Hibernated?
Apr 20, 2004 · It have a fighting conch with the long elephant snout thing. Mine isnt moving at all. Day or night. I know this because the sand where the conch is buried is perfectly undisturbed. If there was some movement i'd see it. I know it's right there, in fact i was curious and gently poked a bamboo skewer into the sand and i felt its shell. No movement.
Tiger Sand Conch, how to tell if it is sick - Invertebrate Forum
Jun 25, 2008 · My water conditions are: Temp 79.7, SG 1.0245, ph 8.3, ALK 3.57, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0.1, Nitrate 20, Calcium 440, Phosphate 0. Physically, they look fine, but but the smaller one will go a day or so without even moving or poking his eyes out of his shell. They were very active when I first got them (4 weeks ago). Any ideas?
