  2. Super stall, also known as “Deep stall”, is a critical aerodynamic condition that can occur in certain aircraft configurations, particularly in those with a T-tail design. This phenomenon arises when the aircraft’s angle of attack (AOA) is too high, causing the airflow over the wing to disrupt the airflow over horizontal stabilizer.

As the angle of attack of any aerofoil section is increased, the lift will also increase up to a point known as the critical angle. At this angle of attack (typically 15° to 20° for most aerofoil sections) the airflow separates from the upper surface of the wing and this condition is known as a stall.

Aug 5, 2014 — A deep stall is a stall where the pilot is unable to pitch down due to either loss of clean airflow over the elevator (typical in T-tails) or the canards …

    • The Reality Of Deep Stalls - Plane & Pilot Magazine

Jul 9, 2013 — Deep stalls can occur when the airfoil is forced into an attitude greater than its critical AOA. Depending upon wing location, this can place the T-tail in the airflow shadow of the wing, effectively blanking the tail and …

    • Stall (fluid dynamics) - Wikipedia

A stall is a condition in aerodynamics and aviation such that if the angle of attack on an aircraft increases beyond a certain point, then lift begins to decrease. The angle at which this occurs is called the critical angle of attack.
