  2. Super stall, also known as “Deep stall”, is a critical aerodynamic condition that can occur in certain aircraft configurations, particularly in those with a T-tail design. This phenomenon arises when the aircraft’s angle of attack (AOA) is too high, causing the airflow over the wing to disrupt the airflow over horizontal stabilizer.

Most aircraft wings stall at or below 20 degrees angle of attack. Deep stalls can occur when the airfoil is forced into an attitude greater than its critical AOA. Depending upon wing location, this can place the T-tail in the airflow shadow of the wing, effectively blanking the tail and significantly reducing elevator effectiveness.

Deep Stall is a aerodynamic stall condition that is difficult or impossible to correct and unstall the wing. In some flying tail aircraft it is the blanketing of the rear control surfaces by a stalled main wing. In a canard it is typically a stalled main wing, which the canard has no aerodynamic ability to nose down and correct.

A deep stall or a super stall is a condition where the wake of the wing impinges on the tail surface and renders it almost ineffective. The wing is fully stalled, so the airflow on its upper surface separates right after the leading edge, which produces a wide wake of decelerated, turbulent air.
