Sin (/ ˈsiːn /) or Suen (Akkadian: 𒀭𒂗𒍪, d EN.ZU[1]) also known as Nanna (Sumerian: 𒀭𒋀𒆠 D ŠEŠ.KI, DNANNA[2]) is the Mesopotamian god representing the moon.

There were over 2,000 deities in the Egyptian pantheon, many whose names are well known - Isis, Osiris, Horus, Amun, Ra, Hathor, Bastet, Thoth, Anubis, and Ptah among others - but many more less so who were also important.

Osiris, one of Egypt’s most important deities, was god of the underworld. He also symbolized death, resurrection, and the cycle of Nile floods that Egypt relied on for agricultural fertility. According to the myth, Osiris was a king of Egypt who was murdered and dismembered by his brother Seth.
