Nov 9, 2008 · Here's a slightly improved version of colbeerhey's solution. I added a return statement so that, in true jQuery form, we chain events after calling the animation. I've also added the arguments to clear the queue and jump to the end of an animation.

I am trying to give users a "flash" of color when there is a click event. I can get the color to appear in a pleasing fashion using a transition, however I want the color to disappear after .5s, without removing the "active" class.

Clearly, I only want it flashing when it is visible. Can someone point me to some example code, or write a quick example to do this? I assume I need some sort of trigger, and an animation. Presumably I also need a trigger when the label is no longer visible so that I stop the animation? Thanks, Dave P.S.
