  2. To have your landscape recognized as a Florida-Friendly landscape, you must follow the steps below1:
    1. Download the checklist from the website: FFL Home Landscape Checklist.
    2. Use the checklist to evaluate your landscape and make any changes needed.
    3. If you need help making your landscape more Florida-Friendly, contact your county's Extension office or see our online materials.
    4. When your landscape is ready, contact your local UF/IFAS Extension office to schedule a site evaluation.
    Yards are evaluated based on a checklist, and by meeting the minimum requirements and collecting at least 50 points, your yard can be certified2. Owners of Florida-friendly yards receive a sign to display in the yard and a certificate2. Landscapes made up entirely of rock, mulch, shell or other similar materials are not considered Florida-Friendly and are not eligible for recognition3.
