    1. Check the power with a multimeter at the gauge terminal. Test between the positive terminal on the fuel gauge and a good ground; the reading should be 12 volts.
    2. If the gauge doesn't read at all, check the ignition circuit.
    3. Find the fuel sender by opening the fuel tank access.
    4. Disconnect the pink and black wires from the sender and touch them together with the key in the ON position.
    5. Check the ground at the sender using a multimeter set to ohms.
    6. If the ground is bad, fix it. Otherwise, short the sender positive terminal to the ground terminal.
