    2. Melt the silicon and add a seed crystal.
    3. Grow the crystal by rotating it in the crucible.
    4. Pull the crystal from the crucible.
    5. Extract the fully formed crystal with a residue of melted silicon.
    6. Cut slices from the large crystal; these slices are blank, rough-cut silicon wafers.
    7. Polish the surface of each silicon wafer.
