    1. Harvest the forage when it is high in quality and excess to feed requirements.
    2. Wilt the forage to 30% dry matter.
    3. Add a fermentable substrate at ensiling.
    4. Chop the forage into short lengths (1–3 cm) before ensiling.
    5. Compact the forage as tightly as possible.
    6. Complete the entire storage as quickly as possible.
    7. Seal the storage air-tight as soon as possible after filling.
    8. Maintain the airtight seal until feeding out.
    9. Feed out a whole face of the storage to a depth of at least 20 cm each day.
    10. If the silage is unsatisfactory, determine the reason for the next season.
