This guide explains how to use trains, trams, buses and ride sharing in Berlin. To use intercity trains (IC and ICE), buy a ticket from the Deutsche Bahn website, in the DB Navigator app, a DB Reisezentrum or a DB ticket machine. You can’t buy tickets on the train.

Berlin’s transportation network is divided into 3 fare zones (A,B,C), which you could see on the map below. Any ticket or pass that you buy will either be an AB, BC, or and ABC ticket or pass. Zone A, where the overwhelming majority of tourist sights are located, makes up the center of the map.
