    Curling is a team sport that usually consists of four to five team members and is played on an ice rink. The goal of the sport is to “sweep” or slide large granite stones toward a common target, also known as a “house”.
    To those who don’t know, curling is a team sport in which a player hurls a piece of stone towards a target circle over a sheet of ice. The player’s team members vigorously sweep the floor using brooms to influence the speed and path of the stone.
    Curling is one of the more unusual sports of the Winter Olympics, often drawing comparisons to shuffleboard, but played on ice. A roughly 42-pound curling rock, or stone, is pushed then slides down a sheet of ice, while two players furiously sweep the surface in front of the stone.
