The terminal on your gauge with the copper strip going up to the light is the +12 volt feed for the internal light. It comes from the NAV/ANCHOR switch. The terminal that's left would be the "S" terminal.

Mar 25, 2010 · Re: wiring to fuel gauge There are two wiring systems in a boat. 1) the boat harness which is the two wires from the battery to the fuse panel. 2) the harness from the engine to the shift/throttle control box. The guages are powered from the "A" terminal on the ignition switch and have nothing to do with the other wires from the battery.

That connection can come from the +12V connection on any other gauge as they are simply daisy chained from one to the next. 2) Ground. Same thing -- gauges are grounded by daisy chaining them together. 3) Light -- same thing.

The diagram does not show the green bonding wire that connects the metal shell of the fuel tank to the fuel filler nozzle which handles anti-static duties. Eliminate the funky connector. Besides the green bonding wire, there needs to be only TWO wires from the sender.
