    The so-called “Eagle’s Nest” (Kehlsteinhaus) was built as a teahouse for Adolf Hitler on Kehlstein Mountain at an elevation of 6,017 ft / 1,834 m. Its unusual position made it a unique engineering feat.
    A popular day trip from Munich or Salzburg, The Eagle’s Nest atop Mount Kehlstein was formerly used by Hitler for state and government meetings during Second World War. To get there, you’ll have to take a special bus up to Kehlstein, before entering via a tunnel and then elevator.
