    The Hells Angels originated on March 17, 1948, in Fontana, California, when several small motorcycle clubs agreed to merge. Otto Friedli, a World War II veteran, is credited with starting the club after breaking from the Pissed Off Bastards motorcycle club over a feud with a rival gang.
    On March 17, 1948, the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) was born from the merging of several smaller clubs, with Otto Friedli at its helm. He'd left the P.O.B.O.B. with some of its members because of internal tensions and a feud with a rival gang to help forge a new club in Fontana, near San Bernardino.
