Nuclear Waste - Klei Entertainment Forums
Sep 24, 2021 · Oh, no need to be so extreme. Nuclear waste is liquid from 26.9°C to 526.9°C, so as long as it's above "room temperature" it will be a liquid. In my screenshot you can see it's in front of the radbolt generator, which puts out a lot of heat, so that's a nice symbiotic relationship.
Self-fueled Radbolt Engine for Free Heat and Radiation
May 26, 2023 · The concept is simple. Repeatedly launch and land a radbolt engine to take advantage of the heat and radiation of the exhaust. When taking off or landing the engine will add heat and radioactive contaminates to the chamber below the rocket. Use the radiation produced by the rocket to fuel it and ...
CLRR: Mega Research Reactor Tutorial - Klei Entertainment …
Dec 24, 2021 · If that tile goes over 1000 kg and a new layer starts, dumped waste has a very high chance of melting pipes and creating nuclear fallout and we obviously don't want that. The heat reclamation is fine tuned to work with 2000-2200 °C internal fuel temperature and the pump should always have access to waste under 210 °C a few seconds after it's ...
Mutant plants farming ... anywhere - Klei Entertainment Forums
Apr 22, 2024 · Liquid nuclear waste has a very high THC of 7.4 kDTU/g (in comparison water is at 4.17) It solidifies/liquifies annoyingly around 300K/26.9C The radiation radius of a nuclear waste tile is exactly 2 tiles, that means the farm tiles need to in contact with the radiating material (see picture of my built farm above).
Controlled reactor overheating - Klei Entertainment Forums
Apr 16, 2021 · The nuclear waste is dropped in an existing pool of ~200C nuclear waste. This is important because the emitted waste is ~750C (well above it's evaporation temperature). But since it immediately merges with the existing liquid and averages it's temperatures, you get all of the thermal energy of the super heated nuclear waste without any fallout ...
Simple Safe Throttled Research Reactor - Klei Entertainment …
Mar 30, 2021 · In addition, you may have noticed I'm already collecting the nuclear waste in a small radbolt generator: The research reactor creates 1000kg/cycle of nuclear waste at 100% uptime. Just collecting the radiation from the waste will quickly get you above the ~320 rads you can collect directly from the reactor.
double nuclear reactor = 40 steam turbine - Klei Entertainment …
Jun 7, 2021 · First you have to make sure that it drops directly into a existing pool of nuclear waste. If it forms a liquid tile on it's own it will immediately flash into fallout gas, because 2400C is well above it's vaporization. This is bad because fallout has a much lower SHC so this transformation will delete huge amounts of heat.
Nuclear power banks should be better - Klei Entertainment Forums
Dec 1, 2024 · Actually, nuclear batteries are absolutely incredible. Unlike standard metal batteries, which cost 200 kg per battery, nuclear batteries only cost 5 kg, yet still produce 120 kj power banks. This means that they have a mass effeciency of 24 to 1, so it only takes a single kilogram to produce 24 kilojoules.
Bring back nuclear power banks!! - Klei Entertainment Forums
Dec 10, 2024 · I feel like the nuclear power banks gave a new starting approach. Instead of mining coal, or hunting hydrogen/methane geysers, you could mine uranium and avoid issues with carbon dioxide. ah well. I'll live with the changes, but i would also like nuclear banks back, it changed up the starting approach.
