I have both the satin chrome 12 inch and 24 inch rules, I use the 24 inch frequently. I also frequently use my simple 6 inch machinist rule. I'm installing a DRO on my mill at the moment and I'm using all three on this job.

May 23, 2012 · Here's picture of new Starrett combination square set that I have. The only place the Starrett name is on the square head is where I pointed the red arrow and it's covered in paint. The centering head isn't marked at all. As you can see your protractor head is missing the level vial and yes the rule does protrude out the bottom a little.

Sep 6, 2017 · I have several PEC tools, including a 12" blem combination square blade only from HJE, and a 4" double square also from HJE, and they are excellent quality, at much better prices than Starrett. A lot of stuff from B & S and other good old companies (including Starrett) are now imports, mere shadows of their former products.

Jan 20, 2014 · Personally, Starrett are some of my favorite tools (surpassed only by Lufkin, and that's only because Lufkin Combination square heads are green-my favorite color!). All of my Starrett tools are older ones though, from ebay auctions and antique stores.
