  2. Millau viaduct
    • According to 4 sources
Millau viaduct holds the world record for the tallest bridge, culminating at 343 metres (higher than the Eiffel tower), 2460 metres long and touching the bottom of the Tarn valley in only 9 places.
Cantilevered high over the Tarn gorge in southern France, and yawning 2,460 meters (8,070 feet) in length, the Millau Viaduct is the world’s tallest bridge, with a structural height of 336.4 meters (1,104 feet). But not even those impressive statistics do it justice.
At 2,460 meters the Millau Viaduct is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world. It crosses over the Tarn River in the south of France at a height of 270 meters. Specialists and structural engineers planned it for 20 years before construction began in the autumn of 2001.
The Millau Viaduct in southern France is the tallest bridge structure in the world and ranked high on my bucket list since its completion in 2004. Located on the A75 highway (map) linking Paris with Montpellier, the bridge is nothing short of an engineering marvel!
