    V annevar Bush is known as "The Godfather of Information Science." In the early 1930s he and his colleagues at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) invented the first practical analog computer, the differential analyzer.
    Between 1927 and 1943 Bush developed a series of electromechanical analog computers which greatly facilitated the solution of complex mathematical problems. Notably in 1931, with Frank D. Gage, Harold L. Hazen, King E. Gould, and Samuel H. Caldwell, Bush completed the Differential Analyzer.
    Vannevar Bush is well-known for his engineering efforts and the work he used in the development of the Memex and the analog computer. His first device to be invented was the differential analyzer, designed in 1927. Memex was a device he designed to help with hypertext.
