The Avatar logo became something of a running joke after a 2017 Saturday Night Live sketch that starred Ryan Gosling as a graphic designer haunted by the design.

The sketch resonated because it was true - Avatar’s original logo really did seem to utilize an ever-so-slightly altered version of Papyrus, as pointed out by a Twitter user.
