    Normally, the aortic valve of the heart pumps blood from the main chamber of the heart to the rest of the body. Narrowing of the aortic valve leads to an increased amount of stress and pressure on the heart muscle leading to a condition called aortic stenosis. The main symptoms of aortic stenosis are discomfort in the chest, difficulty in breathing, swelling of the feet, tiredness, lightheadedness, and sudden death. The treatment of this condition involves Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement or Implantation (TAVR or TAVI). It is a minimally invasive procedure which repairs the aortic valve without removing the damaged valve. A study shows that the survival rate was 16. 2 years in patients aged between 60-64 years, and 6 years in patients aged above 80 years.
