Stark was captured by terrorists while demonstrating a new missile in Vietnam (later updated to Afghanistan).
    The classic tale of his origins is that, after Howard and Maria Stark's death in a car accident, Tony inherits his father's company. While overseeing a manufacturing plant in a foreign country, Tony is kidnapped by local terrorists who try to force him to build weapons for them. Instead, he creates a powerful suit of armor and escapes.
