Uryu Ishida does not die in Bleach, and he did survive the events of the Thousand-Year Blood War. After realizing what a threat Yhwach was, Ishida joined him and became not only one of his Sternritter but also his successor.

Uryū Ishida (石田 雨竜, Ishida Uryū) is a Gemischt Quincy residing in Karakura Town. He is a doctor at Karakura Hospital as well as the second cousin and a friend of Ichigo Kurosaki.

He changed his mind after being traumatized about his father performing surgery on his wife's dead body, but after learning the truth behind it he shouldn't have any reason to not pursue the dream he had since childhood.

Though she supposedly died from some sort of illness, she actually passed away because of Yhwach's Auswählen (Holy Selection). Incredibly, Ichigo and Uryu both lost their mother on the same day because Yhwach decided to steal their powers for himself. As a result, Masaki Kurosaki died from a lack of power in her fight with Grand Fisher.

Uryu is Ichigo Kurosaki's Quincy friend and has been by the protagonist's side since Season 1. Now, however, Uryu finds himself torn; he's got his friends fighting on the Soul Reapers' side and his fellow Quincy on the other.
