    V annevar Bush is known as "The Godfather of Information Science." In the early 1930s he and his colleagues at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) invented the first practical analog computer, the differential analyzer.
    In 1931, Vannevar Bush completed work on his most significant invention, the differential analyzer, a precursor to the modern computer.
    Between 1927 and 1943 Bush developed a series of electromechanical analog computers which greatly facilitated the solution of complex mathematical problems. Notably in 1931, with Frank D. Gage, Harold L. Hazen, King E. Gould, and Samuel H. Caldwell, Bush completed the Differential Analyzer.
