I have Office 2013 professional plus installed. I need the icon files used by Windows when office documents are listed in windows explorer. I have learnt that generally icons are stored in DLLs, and we can check it using Resource Hacker.

Using IconsExtact, browse to and search the folder C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Office/Office 13/ (or something similar to that). It may take a minute but a list of all the office icons should show up.

Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard. In the ‘Run’ window type Winword.exe or Excel.exe and click Ok. If this opens Word 2013 or Excel 2013, it means the applications are installed properly. You may try creating the short cut icons from All Programs list and check.

go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14. find [OUTLOOK.EXE] and send to desktop as shortcut. Open using this shortcut. Drag shortcut to your task bar. Icon will be back.

However, there are no icons in the Taskbar/Desktop or any reference to Office in the START/PROGRAM menu. After snooping around C:\Program Files (and Program Files (x86)) folders, it appears the Office program is there and referred to as Microsoft Office 15.
