I am also prone to petechiae and get them with mild pressure and everytime my blood pressure gets taken it looks like someone shook a paint brush over my arm that had red paint on it.

Our family also has connective tissue disorder (some have Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos and some Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder) and apparenlty this can cause leaky veins due to over stretchy tissue.

Jul 31, 2023 · I’m honestly not saying this to worry you as it’s almost always fine but the nhs protocol is that it needs to be checked out (in regards to platelet levels etc). I know from bitter experience as both my boys get petechiae (sometimes viral but often just where a car strap or rucksack etc has been pressing down etc). My husband is the same.

At that time I was being investigated for non-Hodgkins lymphoma because of that, night sweats, tiredness and raised lymph nodes. Turned out to be perimenopause. Not had any since starting HRT. May 18, 2018 · Hi Lis - of course, without seeing the red spots it is impossible to say for sure but I would say with a level of confidence that they are petechiae if they look similar to pictures you’ve seen online. I would 100% not worry at all about them and if you start to get more then pop to see your doctor - they do not mind putting people at ease.

Jul 27, 2023 · The doctor looked at me with a very big open eyes saying that they are petechiae but this is not the kind of petechiae they are worried about. However he ordered for blood which came back ok, however her haemoglobin was borderline. ( the blood test a month ago was in the morning that one was in the evening so they can cause the differences maybe )

I have felt no different so far…still feel worried about things just in general and am hoping the medication helps soon; however I am still getting these petechiae spots popping up randomly. My mind runs away with itself. I jump to the worst.

It would be fairly obvious to a doctor, particularly if just isolated to one particular area. Systemic illness petechiae would be accompanied by obvious signs of illness.
