The Pythia examples directory contains about 100 examples, each showcasing one or several features of the framework. The examples are ordered by keyword below, and cross referenced, allowing for exploration of the various features.

PYTHIA is a program for the generation of high-energy physics collision events, i.e. for the description of collisions at high energies between electrons, protons, photons and heavy nuclei.

PYTHIA 8 is the successor to PYTHIA 6, rewritten from scratch in C++. It includes many new features, but rests on the same historical physics base, including concepts such as soft and hard processes, parton showers, multiparton interactions and string fragmentation.
