Representational State Transfer (REST) is an architectural style that defines a set of constraints and principles for creating web services. RESTful web services enable systems to access and manipulate textual representations of web resources using a uniform and predefined set of stateless operations.

    Key Principles of REST Architecture

    Client-Server Architecture

REST is based on the client-server model, where the client initiates a request and the server responds. This separation allows clients and servers to evolve independently, as long as the interface between them is not altered.

    Statelessness

In REST, each request from the client to the server must contain all the information the server needs to fulfill the request. The server does not store any session information, which helps improve scalability and visibility.
