    One such river was the Tyburn, which flowed from the hills of Hampstead beneath Buckingham Palace, joining the Thames in Westminster. It forked before Westminster Abbey, flowing around what is now Parliament Square and creating the know forgotten Thorney Island.
    Originating in Hampstead, flowing through Regents Park under Buckingham Palace and flowing into the Thames near Vauxhall Bridge in Pimlico. At St James Park the Tyburn also branched off to form the island of Thorney, the site of Westminster Abbey.
