The Oddball is a split mechanical keyboard with an integrated trackball. While drawing inspiration from things like the Jian and the Dactyl Manuform , it is instead designed with a switch plate and PCB to give it durability, replicability, and a more utilitarian look.

I really like it; having a trackball embedded in the keyboard really exceeded my expectations. It helps with all kinds of everyday tasks, and saves you from blindly having to find your way to your mouse and back again.

It had a split layout, along with column-staggered keys (vertically aligned), allowing for more comfortable wrist rotation. I used multiple thumb keys to switch layers, meaning I didn’t have to move my hands as much, improving accuracy and speed.

Insert the bearings into the trackball ring; it’s a tight squeese, so you may need to use something hard/metal to push them in. Then bolt the ring, plate, sensor cover, and sensor, together with the 18mm M2 bolts and nuts.
