    The Sons of the Pioneers were formed in 1933 by three singers from Los Angeles: Roy Rogers, Bob Nolan, and Tim Spencer. The original trio went on to include Hugh Farr on the fiddle, his brother Karl on the guitar, and Lloyd Perryman as a lead vocalist. Lloyd Perryman later became the band’s manager, leading the group to international success.
    The Sons of the Pioneers were considered by many to be the greatest western singing group of all time. The group was founded in Los Angeles in late 1933 as a vocal trio consisting of Roy Rogers, Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer. Their first commercial recordings were made in August 1934 for Decca. By that time they added Hugh Farr on fiddle.
