It was in the year 1967, when our late founder, Mr. Amarjit Singh Tibb, travelled to India via Beirut. What happened next, is what gave birth to your favourite Indian snack, “Tibb’s Frankie”. On his way back to India, he tried the famous, stuffed pita bread in Beirut. That was it!

Through the lens of one of Bombay’s most iconic street food brands – Tibbs Frankie, in the spirit of celebrating India’s culinary journey post-Independence, we explore how the brand’s product came to be seen on the menu of street food carts around the country.

Charanjit and Jasmit inherited a legacy, but created an empire. Under their leadership, Tibb's transformed from a Mumbai-only brand to having 260 plus outlets nationwide. Now registered in 25 countries, it will spread its wings in Dubai, UK and elsewhere in Europe if Jasmit's plan works out.

Frankie is one of Mumbai’s most beloved snack. It is essentially a roll or a wrap, made with chapati. The stuffing includes a variety of sautéed veggies and chutneys. This saucy, wholesome snack that is barely 50-60 years old is rather special to Mumbaikars and all those who have had it in Mumbai.
