I recommend purchasing an adapter and use pretty much any controller (i.e. PS4, PS5, Xbox, Nintendo, etc.) you want. The adapters let whatever controller you use work like the PS3 controller, including the PS button, except no pressure sensitive buttons as that's only a PS3 controller exclusive. Don't go messing around in the bluetooth menu of the Steam Deck, that doesn't do anything. It is very important do connect the PS3 controller and the Steam Deck directly.
