    The Vietnam Service Ribbon is a yellow ribbon with three thin vertical red stripes toward the center and a thin green stripe on each edge. To receive the ribbon, personnel must have served in Vietnam on temporary duty for at least 30 consecutive, or 60 nonconsecutive days or have served in combat with a unit directly supporting a military operation in Southeast Asia. The ribbon was instituted in 1965 and given for service between 1965-1973. Subsequent awards may be indicated by service stars, oak leaf clusters, or the Fleet Marine Device as appropriate.
