hello, I am trying to engrave a glass cup with a thickness of 2.7 mm. I have tried engraving at 10mm/s with 25% power and 100mm/s with 40% power. both have caused the glass to crack. what tips should I know?

I am having a very hard time finding the right settings (20 w diode Ortur laser, Lightburn) ) for engraving onto tempered glass. I am using grayscale, 500 DPI, and have set the power at various intensities from 50-100%, and speed from 60-90 mm/I.

Looking to engrave vector images on glass tumblers. Seems like it should be simple, but I have tried numerous settings without success. Sometimes it burns through the masking tape with nothing on the glass, and sometimes it chips the glass.

If you like the extra contrast of the painted glass but you don't like the negative image, you can use Lightburn to invert the image before engraving, so the background is light and the figures are dark.
