Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): To relieve pain.

Ibuprofen . Naproxen

Corticosteroids: Taken orally or intravenously to minimize pain and inflammation.

Hydrocortisone . Methylprednisolone

Orthopedic surgery: Depending on the cause, surgery is performed to remove bone spurs or a part of the herniated disk in the spine.

Carpal tunnel surgery: To severe the affected nerve and relieve pressure.

Physical therapy:Exercises to strengthen and stretch muscles so as to help relieve pressure.

Foods to eat:

• Calcium rich foods which include cheese, milk, yogurt, and vegetables such as spinach and kale
• Foods rich in potassium, such as bananas, avocados, nuts and apricots.
• Omega-3-fatty acids found in fish, flax seeds, walnuts, leafy green vegetables and fiber rich foods can lower inflammatory chemicals in the body
• Increase the intake of magnesium rich foods such as nuts, beans, soy, and whole grains
