After Night 1 and before Night 2 in FNaF 3, the employees of Fazbear's Fright found Springtrap in the FNaF 1's pizzeria. Thinking it was a real animatronic, they brought him into Fazbear's Fright, and Springtrap came back from the dead.

Springtrap is a withered, decayed Spring Bonnie suit, in which William Afton died while trying to escape his victims. Springtrap was left trapped within the Safe Room for the better part of 30 years, until he was retrieved by the crew of Fazbear's Fright, who were looking for an intact animatronic.

Springtrap is the main antagonist and the only true animatronic in Five Nights at Freddy's 3. He is the only antagonist that can give the player a Game Over, as the phantom animatronics can only jumpscare the player and impair their vision and/or hearing.
