Aloe vera is native to the Arabian peninsula, but it is widely cultivated around the world in arid, tropical, and semi-tropical climates. It has become naturalized in North Africa, parts of Spain and Portugal, and parts of the southwestern United States ^{1 2}. It can also be found in dry areas around Asia, southern Europe, and the Americas ³. Aloe vera grows indoors in bright windows or planted outdoors in a group ³. In its natural habitat, it commonly grows in nutrient-poor soil conditions, on sandy slopes with guaranteed drainage ⁴.
