Davidson plum is the fruit of a native tree found in the rainforests of northern New South Wales and Queensland. It's known scientifically as Davidsonia jerseyana and orray in some Indigenous languages. The fruit grows on trunks and branches and attracts native animals such as tree kangaroos.

Davidsonia pruriens, also known as ooray, Davidson's plum, or Queensland Davidson's plum, is a medium-sized rainforest tree of northern Queensland, Australia. [1] [2] The leaves are large and compound. The edible dark burgundy colored fruit is produced in large clusters from the branches or the trunk, depending on the type.

Davidsonia johnsonii, smooth Davidson's plum, is a small tree with a spreading canopy and smooth leaves, native to New South Wales and southeast Queensland. It is also considered an endangered species in the wild but is not widely cultivated because of its infertile seeds.

Davidson’s plum is native to Australia, and found growing throughout New South Wales and Queensland, particularly in rainforests. Known as Jerseyana, Orray and Mullumbimby in indigenous languages, it has long been cultivated, and is safe to eat as bush tucker food.

The Davidson plum refers to a group of native Australian fruits from the genus Davidsonia. Three main species are commonly recognized: Davidsonia jerseyana – Native to northern New South Wales. Davidsonia pruriens – Found in Queensland.
