It was my wife's 40th Birthday and I wanted to do something really special. I opted for a long weekend in Munich and I wanted accommodation to both reflect the flavour of Bavaria but also have some wow factor. I selected this hotel based on reviews on Trip Advisor. Eden Hotel Wolff was perfectly located for public transport (right across the road from main train station) but you didn't hear any of the noise one would expect. Outside and inside, it was beautifully decorated and really had a touch of class and luxury about it. The staff were very patient with my poor language skills and all spoke excellent English. They were very helpful and attentive. I paid extra to be upgraded to superior double room and was informed at check-in that we had been allocated a "special" alpine style superior double room for my wifes birthday. We were also complimented with two free drinks to celebrate. Fabulous! It was very beautiful with white wooden wall panelling, very comfy bed and bedding and seats etc. The room and ensuite bathroom were very spacious for a Hotel in the heart of a city. We dined in the hotel restaurant on night one and the food and décor was very charming. We tried some traditional German meals and both my wife and I found the experience enjoyable. The only small downside was the lack of other patrons in the restaurant. We were the only people dining but perhaps it was because we ate a 7PM and other guests eat later in the evening. But the staff were great and we enjoyed talking to them during our evening. Breakfast was served in the same area in the mornings and tasted great with a good selection of foods to suit all palates. The Hotel bar was also frequented on two evenings in order to relax with a delicious cocktail and a good book. The bar staff and décor also highly recommended. So, why only 4 stars instead of 5? On the morning after our check-in day, we discovered an unpleasant smell of damp or mould in our room. We thought it maybe would clear during the day but it was still there on our return that evening. I felt guilty as I had paid a lot of money (for my budget) for a special trip for my wife, so I reluctantly felt I should report it to the reception . Staff agreed they could smell it too and were very reassuring. They explained there was no other rooms available so nothing could be done tonight, but they would get an engineer to check it the next day when on duty. They also said they would let me know the outcome. I personally think it was linked to the air con unit but not 100%. The next day the smell remained but it was more "tolerable" and my wife and I agreed we didn't want to make too much of a fuss. I never did hear an update from the staff team about whether it had even been looked it. It's not a large complaint. I suspect we were just unlucky and overall the Hotel was lovely. It was just enough to take the shine off a perfect weekend away!

We spent two nights at this hotel after returning out rental car at the airport. It was about a half hour Lufthansa bus ride to the hotel - the train and bus was located just across the street. We could walk to the center of town - about 15 minutes. Our room was spacious enough, the furnishings modern inclusing the bathroom. The room was very clean and airconditioned. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The Breakfast bufee was plentiful. Even though located axross from the train station, the neighborhood is safe and quiet.

We were on a 9 day trip through Austria ending with 3 days in Munich. We were looking for a hotel with a 100% walkability score here on TripAdvisor in the 4 star range. This hotel surpassed our expectations and needs. First, location. It was across the street from the train station and walking distance to the most popular tourist things. So between train and our feet we could get anywhere in 20 mins or less. While it was in a busy location, once you walked through the doors, the busy world melted away, and it was a quiet oasis. We also enjoyed that it was slightly distant from the super touristy areas because we could leave that behind when we wanted to. Second, the rooms. We requested (and paid extra) for Alpine Themed Rooms. They were fun and very spacious. Both rooms had seating areas. Ours with a King bed had a desk and an oversized sitting chair. The kids room had twin beds and a full picnic style table to hang out at. The beds and bedding were fantastic. All four of use slept great in this hotel. Third, the check in and front desk staff were fantastic. When we checked in, they gave us a map and all of the info about the things to do and where they were. So helpful. During our stay, Domenico was especially helpful, answering various questions and providing umbrellas, always with jokes and an easy to chat with demeanor. Fourth, extras-- the sauna and roof deck on the top floor were very nice and my husband took advantage. We had an included buffet breakfast and the delicious. The host every morning was wonderful as well. He got use seated and brought us coffee while also making sure we were checked in-- all in what seemed like 1 motion. Totally as advertised. Affordable for a slightly more upscale option. Great staff and amenities and a perfect location.…
