Signs of external hemorrhoids include: Itchy anus. Hard lumps near your anus that feel sore or tender. Pain or ache in your anus, especially when you sit. Rectal bleeding. Prolapsed hemorrhoids can be painful and uncomfortable. You may be able to feel them bulging outside of your anus and gently push them back inside.

Hemorrhoids are classified under four grades depending on the level of severity. The Grade 1: hemorrhoids are least painful and remains inside the anus. These could be treated most easily out of all others. Grade 2: hemorrhoids are larger ones which could even come outside during passing stool but use to get inside own its own. Grade 3: hemorrhoid comes out of anus during passing stool or any physical exercise but doesn't go inside on its own. Grade 4: hemorrhoids are the ones which remains outside the anus and generally cause irritation, pain and bleeding. Thus the severity of a hemorrhoid is judged on the basis of its grade category.

Common symptoms of external hemorrhoids include: External hemorrhoids can sometimes bleed. The bleeding can result in bright red blood in your stool, on toilet tissue, or in the toilet bowl as the blood drips. This may occur after a bowel movement. An external hemorrhoid with a blood clot inside it is called a thrombosed hemorrhoid.

In many cases, haemorrhoids don’t cause symptoms, and some people don’t even realise they have them. However, when symptoms do occur, they may include: Haemorrhoids aren’t usually painful, unless their blood supply slows down or is interrupted.
