Iron Man is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Co-created by writer and editor Stan Lee, developed by scripter Larry Lieber, and designed by artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in Tales of Suspense #39 ( cover dated March 1963), and received his own title in Iron Man #1 (May 1968).

Iron Man first appeared in 1963 in Tales of Suspense no. 39. His creation is officially credited to four people: writer and editor Stan Lee, who plotted the first story; his brother Larry Lieber, who scripted it; artist Don Heck, who drew it; and Jack Kirby, who designed Iron Man’s original armoured battle suit.

Iron Man was a character created for the comic book “Tales of Suspense”. His character first appeared in issue #39 in March of 1963. While in Vietnam (in the comics and Afghanistan in the movies ), Tony was taken captive by a group of soldiers and forced to make weapons for them.
