    Sun damage or heat stress occurs due to the exposure of the skin to Ultraviolet(UV)rays from the sun. It appears around 2 to 6 hours after exposure to severe UV rays peaks around 24 hours and starts to fade within 2 days. Skin damage in hot weather can be prevented by wearing light and loose clothing, drinking plenty of fluids, avoiding excess exercise, avoiding sunlight in the afternoon hours, avoiding a high-fat diet, eating fresh fruits containing excess water like watermelon, oranges, lemon, and strawberries, avoiding consumption of alcohol and caffeine, cold pack application, drinking cold soups, drinking more fluids, intake of 1 glass of water every 15 to 20 minutes, taking oral rehydration solution, application of sunscreen, calamine lotion or aloe vera and moving to a cooler place.
