However, in general, exercises that improve hip strength, flexibility, and range of motion can help relieve hip pain. Here are a few exercises that may help: Hip Flexor Stretch: Kneel on one knee and lunge forward until you feel a stretch in the front of the opposite hip. Hold for 30 seconds and then switch sides. Glute Bridge: Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the ground. Lift your hips off the ground until your body forms a straight line from your shoulders to your knees. Hold for a few seconds and then lower your hips back to the ground. Side-Lying Leg Lift: Lie on your side with your legs straight. Lift the top leg as high as you can without rotating your hip. Hold for a few seconds and then lower the leg back down. Clamshell: Lie on your side with your knees bent and your feet together. Keeping your feet together, lift your top knee as high as you can without moving your pelvis. Hold for a few seconds and then lower the knee back down. Hip Extension: Stand facing a wall with your hands on the wall for support. Lift one leg behind you, keeping it straight, until you feel a stretch in your hip. Hold for a few seconds and then lower the leg back down.
